Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I'm in the middle of writing a scholarly essay, and am in the middle of another project for school...plus all of the work I have to do for my own teaching...time, where does the time go?
Anyway here's the latest news:
After reading about the Yongnuo RF-602's at the Flick Strobist group, I decided to buy some. They arrived yesterday. I ordered 3 receivers and one transmitter. They're small, pocketable, well built, and have a pretty amazing range. Way more range than what I'll ever need. I'll post a review and some video of how they work with a D40x and my YN-460 flashes sometime over the next three weeks. I'll update my review when my studio strobes arrive (sometime during December)...they should work fine. I tested all three receivers with my YN-460 flahses (a quick and dirty test) and the flashes all triggered without a hitch. I got them because I needed a better and more portable lighting system than my current setup allows. I can tell from my quick test and the few pictures I took of my son that they are exactly what I need to keep my camera cable and flash free (my previous attempts at using optical triggers left much to be desired, especially when using snoots).
