I've updated two of my categories: Seoul & Portraits. I'd like to take a moment to thank Tom Schifanella for allowing me to use luggage labels from his collection in one of my portrait shoots. His aptly named Flickr stream "The Art of the Luggage Label" was a great resource in my latest portrait project.
Thank you to those of you who have been waiting patiently for me to update my site. I've cut back on my time on Flickr. It's a fun place, but keeping a stream going as well as a website is time consuming.
There's nothing new to report, except that I bought a 20mm f4 AI lens a few weeks ago. I won't get to play with it till the summer, but it should be a fun lens. Certainly small, light, and very pocketable (I hate lugging around my camera bag). While it may not be as sharp as the kit lens, it's size and focal length should allow me to shoot at 1/20th to 1/13th of a second without worrying too much about camera shake.
I have also purchased a Nikon D40x. While not the latest or the greatest it offered what I was looking for. I'm not a big fan of cropping, but sometimes it helps. I also like the 3fps, as well as the fact that I have all of the accessories including a katzeye focusing screen that are already compatible. I would've liked the D5000, but the bottom swiveling screen and no currently available focusing kept me from jumping ship. I won't wait for Nikon's next greatest thing...if, however, they do come up with an FX DSLR in the 1000-1200US range, then I'll definitely move up.
